Keep my fire burning!

With highs across the United States reaching the upper 90s, it is no surprise that I find myself reaching for dresses on a daily basis. Dresses (well, most) are cute, comfy, and when done right figure flattering. Plus they are so easy to wear, you just throw one on, slip on some cute shoes and maybe a few tchotskys, and you're fabulous! Their careless nature helps you look simply put together. Here are a few dresses I have been eyeing, and with the long month of August ahead, I may just have to indulge in one or two...or three...

I picked up this delightful little number at Delias a few weeks ago, despite my apprehension of how it hung on the rack and the fact that I have never owned something from Delias in my lilfe. Immediately after I tried it on, I fell in love. It is unbeleivably soft, flowy, and most importantly for hot weather: airy.

People always accuse the Gap of being too basic or too plain. I think that is crap, because everyone can use a few good quality basics in their wardrobe. This dress is just that, a cute and simple. It is the perfect ensemble to wear when you want to showcase an interesting pair of shoes or a killer necklace.

Love love love this dress. If I were a dress, this would be me. It's cute and a little preppy, but the ruffles lend it some romance. It could easily be paired with flats for the summer and would look equally as stylish with a good pair of riding boots in the cooler months. Oh and cute tights! The possibilites are endless. Of course its Gap, they keep it classy.

This J.Crew dress is completely fabulous. It is similiar to the Gap one with the whole 'menswear' vibe, but this one comes with a steeper price tag. If you can afford it though, why not?

I love the mod feel of this one from Nordstrom. It is still simple, but the contrasting black and white keep it from being just another black dress. Dress it up or dress it down, it's adorable.
